Right now, I am in the middle of Dear John. During this time, John and Savannah are sharing their last few days together before John has to leave for Germany again for another year. Savannah is studying special education in college and grows an interest in Johns father Bill Tyree. As she watches him, she thinks that he might have something wrong with him called Asperger's. When sh tells John this, he gets really angry. They didn't talk the next day but they made up in time to say goodbye to each other When John leaves. Before John leaves, Savannah gave him a letter she wrote but said to to read it until he's on the plane. The note explained her feelings for him and how she can't wait until they can be together again. From then on, John and Savannah wrote to each other whenever they got the chance. On Johns next leave, he stayed with Savannah at her parents house. He was nervous at first, meeting her parents but they were very nice to him and made him feel right at home. John and Savannah got in more fights towards the end of their time together but still loved each other. When John left again, they promised each other they would keep in touch.
