Dear John

I just read the first half of Dear John. This book made me sad because once John and Savannah fell in love with each other, John has to go back to Germany and not see Savannah for a long time. Savannah and John got in a fight just before he left. In college, Savannah studies special education and thinks that Johns father has Aspergers. John got really mad at Savannah for saying that, and that's what fueled the fight. Finally they worked things out, just in time for he left for Germany. Savannah gave a letter to John telling him only to read it on the plane. Once the plane took off, John opened it quickly and read it. In the letter, Savannah said: "If you come back, ill marry you. If you break your promise, you'll break my heart." I cant wait to read more into this book because i want to see if they really do get married. So far I love this book because Nicholas Sparks tells the story very well. Something i really didn't like about the book so far was that John and Savannah only spent a couple of days together, and they are already talking about marriage. This usually wouldn't happen in real life.
