Tree Girl

The book I read this marking period was called Tree Girl, and it's about this family that lives in Guatemala. All Gabriela has had to worry about in her life was he up comming quincineta. But war comes to her peacful home, and she suffers so much loss. So she tries to make it in to Mexico to escape the war and find her sister. But she struggles so much that she vows to never be 'Tree Girl' again. I thought that this book is a good reminder that hope can always be found, even in the worst of situations.
