The Factotum

In the book, THE FACTOTUM, a young boy named Rossamund returns in the sequel to the best selling novel, LAMPLIGHTER. This boy, Rossamund, is with his mistress Europe, a warrior who goes to towns in order to rid people of crime and evil. Rossamund is her factotum, or the person who makes this special drink that keeps her senses alert and keeps her energized. He also gets involved with some of these fights. He is an expert with different kinds of powders and chemicals, and mixes them to create deadly poisons that harm the enemy. They set out on a journey to rid a town of some criminals and when they are on their way back to their house in Branden Brass, they are ambushed and attacked. They have to fight for their lives in order to get out of this hoard of criminals. When they finally get out of the fight, they had no means of transportation to get back, so they go to an old friend of Rossamund's, who gives them shelter to heal from the injuries that they sustained in the fight.
