The Penderwicks.
The Penderwicks, by Jeanne Birdsall, is an interesting book. It starts out kind of boring and little-kidish. As the story goes on, there is more action added. My book is about a family named the Penderwicks that go on a summer vacation. Sadly, the mother of the children died four years earlier due to an accident. The surprising part is that the owner of their rental house, Mrs. Tifton, is said to be part of the mothers accident. The children meet Jeffery Tifton, Mrs Tifton's son. They become very close friends with him, but cause a lot of trouble at Mrs. Tifton's mansion. When Mrs. Tifton finds out about their relationship, she gets mad. Mrs. Tifton and her boyfriend, Dexter, decides to look into a military school for Jeffery, even though She had been planning it for years because her father was a general. Jeffery wants no part in military school, but would rather go to a music school instead. The Penderwick sisters try to stop Jeffery from going to the military academy, but Mrs. Tifton gets angry and more definite about her decision. Will Jeffery have to go to Pencey Military Academy, or will he have a choice on what he wants to do?
