To Kill A Mockingbird

For my Independant reading project I read "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. This book is about a young girl named Scout Finch and her brother Jem. When a neighbors nephew, Dill, comes to live with his aunt for the summer, they all become great freinds.
On the block there is one neighbor who never comes outside of his house, and no one knows what he looks like. His name is Boo Radley. He is believed to be a scary, dangerous man. Jem, Scout, and Dill are all afraid of him. Over the summer, they try countless ways to get Boo Radley to come out of his house.
Jem and Scouts dad, Atticus Finch, is a lawyer. He doesn't discriminate against people for the color of their skin, or if they are rich or poor. He is willing to protect anyone that he thinks is innocent. That is why he takes on Tom Robinsons case. Tom Robinson is a negro who is accused of something that he couldn't have possibly done. It is a wonderful story about the joys, and fears of growing up.
